Welcome to Troop 217!
We are based in Gig Harbor, WA and one of the first troops to be recognized as a co-ed Troop in Scouting America. We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone and anyone who wants to join.
Troop 217 participates in numerous volunteer opportunities, scouting events, outdoor activities and other such adventures that everyone can enjoy. We operate on a scout-led leadership system with rotating positions voted on by the troop, so events may or may not change year after year. Everyone’s thoughts are heard or represented by their patrol leaders, and participation is encouraged but never required.
We are a friendly, respectful, and close-knit group that leaves a lasting impression on the lives of our scouts. Through the building of lifelong skills in countless fields, we gain experience to work as a team, to lead, and build long-lasting friendships.
